the time i was able to spend with those guys. i was able to do it. art modell was a great guy. he did so much for our organization and the nfl. just a great guy. >> players knew how much art modell loved the team, loved them, and they hope to honor that legacy of the way a football man would like. >> he lived a full life. that is a full life. one thing you think about, what i think about life and death is how you end up going and he went peacefully. that is one thing that you can say. he passed like he was going to sleep and he took all the good memories with him and obviously we will keep the family in our prayers. it is an added motivation for this week. we will go out there and play our hearts out. >> the former ravens receivers

nellum member of the broadcast team, proudly wears the ring he won in the 2000 super bowl ravens. the only super bowl one by -- won by an art modell team. the team and the town converged at the pinnacle of the nfl. >> it was not just his ring or his lombardi trophy. it was the people's trophy. you have the lombardi trophy signifying it was for the fans. >> the loss of their old owner will serve as the moderator and a memory. a memory of how one man's vision can change the town and a motivator to create a season that is as meaningful to baltimore as art modell. it will hold a public tribute to art modell from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

>> speaking for many in his reverence of the late owner. he had a playful attitude. he joked around with me when i saw him, talking about the upcoming season. whether you work in the media or sat in the stands or played for the team, he treated you the same. you could expect a wink and a smile in the course of the conversation. he cherished the joy art modell brought to the lives of people he knew. >> the last time i saw him, he came rolling by in his wheelchair and he was coming back from the facility and he could not last long enough to stay through the whole practice. i was coming down to practice late in the past him in the hallway and i said hey, and he looked at me and said, "hjort tube -- who are you?" he started laughing and i leaned
